Just for some closure since I posted several times about this problem I was having in my car. In the end I decided to stop paying for diagnostics after the first $3,700 failed to identify the problem and the only possible solution was to continue diagnostic fishing expeditions. I decided to go ahead and replace the engine with a new GM crate engine all done by Abel Chevrolet in Rio Vista to perfection. So the point of my post is I have no idea what the ultimate reason for this error was but I now have a new engine with a warranty all thanks to Rich and John Fleming at able Chevrolet. Props to those fellas and their team, they do amazing work.
I’m glad to hear your problem was resolved. That seemed to be like a pretty expensive gamble. Do you know if they figured out the root cause? Either way enjoy the new power plant.

Amazing that your trouble code could not be resolved after $3700 in diagnostics/repairs and then you had to completely replace the engine. Glad you got the car up and running properly and hope you never have to go through that again.

Nope. The next diagnostic event was to remove the cam shaft and measure the cam bearings for wear-$3500. THEN if they were the cause, the engine would need to be removed and rebuilt, whis would have well exceeded the cost for the total engine replacement. If not the cause, then put back together,.verify code still present, and then see what GM.tech support directed next.
