Don't forget my '17 Grand Sport MINT/SHOWROOM with only 9k miles, still smells new!!!!

Welcome to CF!
The Z51, Z06 and GS are track oriented cars, with systems and components that only are intended for track use. These cars can only be really unwound on the track, and the Stingray base model can get you a careless and reckless citation in all 50 states without breaking a sweat.
For a semi DD and occasional track use, the base C7 Stingray would be my choice. Unless the car has an extended warranty, you're on the hook for any non-powertrain maintenance, and if a part isn't on the car, it can't require maintenance, repair or replacement.
IMO the 2016 and later model years have the most useful goodies, including Car Play/Android Auto and self securing trunk lid. Further, the 2LT trim package includes passenger convenience items missing in the 1LT, while the 3LT adds mostly interior leather, nav and PDR.
The MRC is a plus, but would be a rare find in an M7 Stingray.

The MSRC and Z51 are plentiful. A base can be modded easily enough if he chooses to get one of those.

I spent three months nationwide searching before finding one of 236 produced! Hang in there and you will find what you are looking for. Good luck.
I agree with searching nationwide. I flew from Dallas to Phoenix/Scottsdale for mine in August 2022; $250 one-way. Prior to this, I did eat one ticket to Tampa after I became uncomfortable with the dealer. I did buy from a small dealer. A one-owner '17 GS Vert, A8. It had 35.7k mi on it when I drove away. Mileage higher than most but that made it affordable to me. 1k mile drive home.
When looking nationwide, have an understanding of sale taxes. Because I drove mine home, I paid AZ sale tax and not Dallas, TX sale tax which was $1,100 more than I had expected. If I had shipped it, I would have paid Dallas, TX sale tax rate but shipping more than the differences in sale tax and certainly less enjoyable.
Be patient, get what you really want and Good Luck!

Default First time owner as of this afternoon

Found a ‘16 Z51 3 LT in Indy. One owner with 5,xxx Immaculate car. Long Beach red which was first choice and a M-7 which was a must have. Interior is brownstone which looks cool with the burgundy paint. Inside still smells new. Original laminated window sticker included. It felt right so I brought it home. Stingray logo package dealer installed on this car. Are the sill plates part of this? What a car, wow! Never sat in one much less drove one. Feels like I’m sitting in a race car cockpit. The steering is so responsive and tight and that’s in touring. Love the option to adjust steering and exhaust note. Absolutely on cloud nine driving home tonite. Big thanks for all the responses to my post. I really appreciate it! Only regret is what took me so long! 😀😀

Welcome aboard OP. I’ve had several combinations of 5th gen Camaros and C7 vettes. Just found my 6th (and hopefully final 5th gen SS with 7,400 miles on it about a month ago). Keep the 5th gen too if you can swing it. You’ll definitely miss it if you sell (I really miss my 13 1LE). They’re completely different animals, but fun in their own ways.

16 Z51 and 13 1LE

Current combo. 10SS and 19Z

I wish you the best in your quest.

Couple suggestions that the other guys didnt mention.

I know you would want one as soon as possible, but my biggest suggestions would be to be patient and get exactly what you want. I bought my 2017 new, but guys that were savy and patient are able to pick up a used C7 with less than 10,000 miles and perfect condition, at a considerable discount. As much as folks say there isnt deals out there are wrong. My neighbor is always buying and selling incredible cars at stupid low prices.

I wish you all the best,

Ken

Co-worker just bought a 2014 C7 3LT Stingray for 40k, 80k miles. It's a manual, changed out the transmission fluid to redline, rear diff and shifts like butter. Added EOS front splitter and side skirts and he's super happy.

I like the look of the Grand Sport without the added cost of the Z06

Also cost 10-12k more than a Stingray Z51
