Any Dealership People in Here? I got a question..
I'm in the process of buying (maybe) a 2017, manual trans, silver, gorgeous and have discovered that it doesn't have a few of the features it was advertised with. Is there a way to use the vin to determine what features the car had when it was built? I really like the car but I'm beginning to think this thing is a stripped down model and if so I have a problem now with the asking price. Thanks in advance folks.. talk about a bummer..

The dealer can print out the options sheet for you. Or take the vin to any GM dealer and they can also do it.
you get a full list of all original options that were included with the car.

Thanks Man! I'm about half sick over this but, it seems that no one at the dealership knows a thing about Corvettes and they listed it with 3 options it doesn't have. They knocked $1000 off the asking price for 2 of them.. Finding this third one has me wanting to just return it and be glad I discovered this while I was still able to give it back. I'll swing by the dealership in the morning, I'm really interested in seeing if they can give me an estimate of what a car configured like this one is worth. I'm still alittle antsy about buying a car that's basically amounts to a second house payment, but now that I've driven one.. I don't see me giving up on owning my own without some really unforeseen complications! Thank You so much for the advice! Happy Holidays!!

I DO have it in my possession and will be doing exactly that come morning! Thanks for the link.. I've never heard of that website before and really appreciate finding out about it! btw, I'm purchasing from a dealership, not an individual since you asked. I've had my head stuck in the owners manual for the last week but, it tells you about ALL the options available.. not the ones that came with your car. THANKS AGAIN AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I would assume that the dealership that you are working with is not a GM one. If that is the case, go to a local GM dealership and ask them to run a vehicle history report on the car (can be done with the VIN). It will tell you what the options were on the car when it rolled off the build line at the factory.

At first check Service Identification Label. You can find it in trunk right side under carpet near battery. Example below.
It lists all factory ordered options RPO even LPO -Limited Production Options such as Accessories ordered at time of production are listed.
Link with code meaning posted few posts above.
You can easily know all factory options and be able to compare against actual car. This info is the same as Buils Sheet which you can request for free from any GM dealer by providin VIN. The only exception is you need to decipher codes.
If you go to dealer request two print outs from Global Connect system
- Build Sheet - you get basically same info as from label but each code will be with proper description
- Vehicle Summary Report (GMVIS Report)
With this one you can get:
- Required Action Fields
- Branded Title Info
- Warranty Block Info
- Service Contract Info
- OnStar - XM Info
- Applicable Warranties
- Service History
Hope that helps

Go to this website:
https://monroneylabels.com/
For $8.00 you'll get an immediate emailed pdf of the list of equipment, options and prices for your car. It's the information that would have been on the original window sticker, but arranged in a different format.. Like this - -

Ventor is correct, no need to pay anything to see your options, look at the sticker in your trunk as it will list every option that the car came with

I like the Monroney format because I don't need to cross-reference the codes to a list to see what they are; the Monroney spells it out. Plus, the label lists codes for stock equipment as well as optional equipment, not making it clear which are extra-cost options. Monroney makes that difference clear. The fact that I can get that info without a trip to a dealership is a plus.
(By the way, I'm not arguing your point. I'm just stating the reasons for my preference.)

Some are weird about giving their VIN number and that is about the only way we can tell. Get the VIN, take it to GM and have them tell us what is on it. Or, like I said, go look at the RPO sticker and really know what is there and what isn't.

`Cliff notes: OP is looking to buy a car and as advertised it says it has NPP exhaust, Mag Ride, and Navigation. Upon taking delivery of said car it seems these options are not there. Is this what is going on basically?

Thanks so much you guys!!
I got a MSRP sheet on the car and it explains everything. Thanks folks.. I've been making myself insane here thinking about this, but the car is just amazing and I've just gotta get used to the idea here and get on with enjoying it! So much about this has been a real eye opener.. especially what happens if you get alittle too horsey with the throttle! Once again, thank you everyone! Happy Holidays to aLL!!
