Default How do you use the multi-quote function?

I feel like I am somewhat tech-savvy, but I can't get this function to work!

I go to a thread that I have already posted in and that someone else has responded to. I want to include both my original post and the response to my post, so I click on the "multi-quote" icon, then press "respond."

All I get is the person's response, and not my original post! I have tried different combinations and orders of using the multi-post, and I have looked in the help section, but I can't find out how to make the dang thing work (and I know it is very simple).

Could somebody please help? (and be kind)

If you want to multi quote you click the checkbox for every post you want to quote then hit respond. They should all appear quoted.

To quote a block of text it just needs to have [QUOTE "some text" [/QUOTE
with the close bracket added to the end of each QUOTE. If you add an equal sign after the first QUOTE it will add the "originally posted by" part. Then if you add a semicolon and the post number it will allow you to click the arrow and jump to that post.

CLick the posts you want to multiquote by clicking the MQ box and then click "Reply".
