Default Center console lid

Does anybody make one that is a higher quality than the OEM one that stretches over time as you rest your arm on it?

GM has made an improved quality C7 console cover since I believe around 2017-2018? Doesn't distort / dimple up like it's predecessor.

That may be true, and my 19 GS console armrest shows no wear or dimpling, but I just purchased a black/red real leather cover for $52.00 (usually $69.00) from Redlinegoods.com (see ad on CF) using the Xmas 20% discount. I am pleased with the options, apparent quality, and the price, but I don't know how long the discount will last. Now my kids don't have to worry about my Xmas present this year and they get off cheap!

Uh... no. My 2018 dimples just like the older ones. However, a good upholster can replace the crappola original foam and make them work like such have for decades before the C7s. Another example of GM "forgetting" what always worked before, opting for something cheaper, I'm sure.

Yep. In 2018, I had mine replaced under warranty for dimpling. Didn’t last any longer than the original.

Oh No!

I just replaced my 2016 with a 2019 (from a great forum member) and was hoping the issue had been resolved.

There is noticeable difference in the feel of the padding between the two. Dimples are one thing, but my 2016 completely came loose and it looked horrendous.

I just replaced my 2016 with a new OEM part. Hope it doesn’t come loose like the old one.

I just just purchased an Alcantara microsuede GM OEM accessories console lid from these guys for my "On special order" 2023 Camaro SS. Very good prices and delivered to my home in just a few days

I have a 2019 Grand Sport 2LT. When the Vette was new my sales guy sold me a new in the box OEM Leather console lid for a 3LZ as an upgrade from the OEM 2LT vinyl. It still looks new (19K miles). If you want the real leather I would ask a Chevy dealer to see what the cost is and the GM part # if you want to shop around.

Take it an upholstery shop. Took mine in a month ago to have it restretched and have some embroidery done. I'll post a pic when its done. Guy takes in work from Utah, Arizona, NY, even Canada (I am in NE Indiana). Super nice guy and a true craftsman. PM me if you want his info.

Vette Candy has real leather console lids.
They're $350. However, if you return your original, you get $150 back - for a net cost of $200.
Seems like a decent deal to me.
I'm probably going to order one in 2-tone, which is the same price as solid color.

From redlinegoods.com, which stitching matches OEM back better, white or medium grey. Do you happen to know?

I try to put more forearm on the console lid vs just elbow. my original from 2016 was in decent shape but had a small dimple starting when i got it, but i wanted the z06 logo oem console lid anyway, im just being more careful with it.

So apparently you have to glue the new cover from Redline on, it doesn't just stretch over the existing armrest?
