Default Media Player

Having a problem playing recorded songs on USB flash drive in my 2017 stingray. Copied album from CD to my PC and from PC to a Scandisk 32GB flash drive with FAT32 format and Mp3 files. The flash drive will play the recording in windows media player. When I place the flash drive into any of the cars USB drives and press media on touch screen the flash drive is not recognized and get a message " no media available".All AM,FM.XM,Pandora function are working
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Your first problem is that FAT32 will not work for a 32GB flash drive. Try NTFS instead.

That is how I set it up, too. I put it in the USB PORT behind the Info screen. I like to play the album "Top Gun", while I am cruising PCH.

I hit the voice activation button on the steering wheel, and say, "Play, Top Gun". It starts playing the album. Good luck!

Smaller USB drives are formatted FAT32 and work fine. Larger (e.g., 32G+) are not FAT32 and have to be reformatted to FAT32 or NTSF.

I use the USB port behind my drop down screen in my 2019 GS. Occasionally I get a "Media not found" message for a while but after 20 -30 seconds it starts playing. On rare occasions I have to pull out the thumb drive and reinsert it to make it work.
I use Roxio media Creator to make my thumb drive "greatest hits" I just "burn it" to my hard drive then put a number in front of the title so it plays in the sequence I want then copy it all to a thumb drive. Sorta reminiscent of how we usta make our greatest hits cassettes
The Roxio software isn't expensive and is very powerful.

A 32gig flash drive will work fine in the USB port behind the screen, After it is plugged in, and you press the Media button, it will look for Bluetooth and once you get it to the media wait a few seconds and then select the music. It works fine in my 2015.

So, what is the sd card slot and the usb slots for, in the console of my 2015? I tried putting in a sd card with music on it and it didn’t work! Any suggestions?

The 2 USB ports in the center console, 1 USB port behind the screen (and SD card slot in the console 2014/2015 only) are for media. Supported formats are NTFS and FAT. There is no practical limit on SD card capacity when formatted NTFS.

The SD slot left of the glove box is for PDR on 2015/2019 IF INSTALLED. Format must be Fat32. SD cards larger than 32 gb must be formatted with a third party utility to Fat32.

USB flash drives vary in quality. I have bought some that wouldn't work. I would just replace it with another.
