Default Rock Auto Parts Experience

Looking for opinions and feedback.

I created an account and placed my first order with them yesterday. I chose PayPal with a no interest payment plan. The first payment hit my credit card but there’s no confirmation from Rock Auto. In fact the screen never updated on their website to indicate the order was confirmed.

Maybe their software needs work? When I select “order status” there’s nothing listed.

Does anyone know if the order won’t actually show up until after the payment goes from “Pre-Authorized” to posted?

I've ordered a few times from RockAuto and never had a problem. They're often referenced in this forum - always positively, if I remember correctly. Can't remember exactly how the order status progressed - sorry. Just hoping this gives you a little confidence. Good luck!

Long time user of Rock Auto for commodity items. I use a credit card, not PayPal, so my experience is different. I receive individual email confirmations for order placement (shortly after the order), shipment(s) (they ship from various places), and delivery. There are separate email messages if an item proves to be out of stock, returns of cores/refunds, and returns in general. The automated order placement messages seem to be issued 24/7. The other ones are within business hours.

My orders show up right away. (So many orders, so many refrigerator magnets.) I can't recall what happened with my first order, however your order was placed after-hours on a Friday. They might check your credit on Monday morning, then confirm the order.

sounds like your payment hasn't actually cleared yet. the screencap says it's in progress, not sent/complete.

this seems to be more of a paypal concern than a rockauto concern.

haven't had any issues with rockauto in the.. what, 15 or 20 years I've used them? other than expensive shipping, of course.

I’ve been using RockAuto for years and never had an issue. Never tried paypal financing.

Been using Rock Auto for about 20 years and no complaints. If it ships from different places I use their part numbers and eBay the rest. I live in the sticks so it’s a very good option for me.

Regards, Jeff

Count me in as a satisfied customer of Rock Auto for the last 10 yrs. Always used CC not PP and never any problems. They have OEM parts at great prices. Very

I have never done the Paypal thing with them. But I have been using them forever with my credit card and never had an issue buying parts or returning parts with them.

Having used both PP and RA for years, I can definitely say I've had far more issues with PP than RA.

i've used Rock Auto for all my cars for many years and frankly am 100% satisfied. I did get one part that failed in two weeks (a passenger side window regulator) but that's not RA's fault. They promptly sent me a new one and a sticker to return the defective part. Count me as a big fan!

I am on the other side of the border and despite that my orders were filled and received in a timely and smooth fashion. I chose to pay via credit card if that makes any difference. Pricing was also very competitive even with the exchange.

Have used Rock Auto for seveeral items including AC Delco AC Compressor when dealer stock was backorder and they had it in stock for about 50% of dealer price. Have ordered other parts for project cars and so far peerfect service. Reccomend.

I bought the Z51 non-magride shock absorbers from them for my base Stingray and the 4 units shipped from different warehouses but all arrived just fine at a great price.

Ordered GM factory rotors from them as well as other parts on separate orders with no issues - very satisfied. Was pleased to learn one of their shipping hubs is in Phoenix where I live and actually received rotors next day with flat-rate FedEx shipping option. I used PayPal on every order without problems, but I've never used a payment plan so I'm sure that's the difference.

And it appears the moral of the story is when ordering from Rock Auto always use a credit card, not PayPal.

Well, use a CC if you are using a cell phone. If you are using a PC, then PayPal works fine. I've been doing that for many years.
