Default Automatic transmission fluid change

My daily driver C7 Z51 is up to 57K and I made an appointment to change the automatic transmission fluid. I think it's about due, and for whatever its worth the engine area has been a little louder than our other C7. So is this jumping the gun (too soon) or ok? Any positive or negative to having the dealer change it now? I'm not really worried about the cost, just want to take care of my C7.

Normal fluid change is recommended at around 100K miles but if it makes you feel better about the car, no reason you can't change it earlier than that mileage. Has the transmission demonstrated any problem areas - just curious.

Hard to say what the engine area noise may be, but doubtful it is the transmission as the transmission is in the rear of the car.

I went in for the Triple Flush at 16,000 miles, and the end results definitely put a smile on my face!

IF you have the old fluid, would it be that bad to do a triple flush regardless? After all, if it is hygroscopic, sooner or later it will pick up moisture, wouldn't it?

Do we also need an armed guard with a dog patrolling around the car? Can't be too safe with the burden. I bought a car. I didn't buy a burden. I have enough of those.

So the A6. The A8 is the one you should triple flush. A6 I haven’t heard of any issues with and changing early won’t hurt anything. I’ve been considering doing it myself this spring but I’m almost to 85K on my ‘14.

Why is it that the A8 is more a problem? Was the fluid different?

You dont have high miles buy anytime I do a transmission flush on my other vehicles ( I have a manual C7), I change the filter. Dropping the pan and changing the filter is usually informative.

I don't mind walking to the car although I doubt that bit of exercise really does any good. AFAIK, it has to be something more rigorous and more than done at will for any real good. What isn't good for me is to have to frantically walk around the parking lot trying to find my car with my arm raised and pressing panic button on the key fob trying to trigger the alarm and get there. Assuming it is in the parking spot I THOUGHT I put it in earlier. I don't usually remember where I parked so I park consistently at one area and where I can see it coming out the door.

IF the paint gets bad enough like with rock chips, "Buy Once, Cry Once" and get it painted. That or trade it in for something newer and better. Easier solution for me than to have the daily aggravation of pulling out your key fob to see which car you drove and playing "Find the Car".
