I have not yet tried to use mine on my C7Z, but the tape measure says it's too long. Since my other vehicles require the extended version, I plan to use it sideways with the C7...
i got the standard size one 5k one, they make an extension setup to place on the regular size one to work for longer items https://www.quickjack.com/accessories/frame-extensions/
i know it probably adds to the height of it but thats what I would try verses going sideway lifting.

Good tip on the extension setup, for those who haven't purchased yet and don't mind the extra expense and height.
Why is that "what [you] would try verses going sideway lifting," despite the manufacturer's recommendation that they can safely be used both ways?

I'd guess sideways may block access to things like the torque tube / tunnel.
Agreed, but that shouldn't pose any problem for most wheel/tire/brake work or detailing. Not sure I'd want to undertake torque tube/tunnel work only a foot or two off the ground.
