I've been actively looking to get a used C7, and I've found something interesting. I recently noticed a car I was interested in, and got more information on it. While doing a check with the VIN I discovered it was originally posted on the Carvana site. It got me to wondering how many were like that. I have a pretty extensive list of cars I've been following, and I went back over them and found about a third of them were also with Carvana at one time. Then that got me to thinking about how dealers bought them. We know they didn't pay the posted price, and Carvana says they don't negotiate, so just how was the deal closed. I've read a lot about Carvana being in financial trouble, and wonder if Carvana is somehow putting the word out to dealers that cars are available to them for less than what's posted. They buy a lot of cars nationwide, and I'm sure they bought many when the prices were inflated last year, and now they're having a hard time recouping what they spent. I found one particular car that was posted on Carvana for $51,999, and the same car with a dealer for $52,500. We all know a dealer isn't going to mark up a car by only a couple hundred dollars. Has anyone tried to negotiate with Carvana? And were you successful? I wasn't!
I don't believe the employees have the ability to negotiate. We are going into a recession, it's started so you may want to wait as prices are dropping. Personally, I wouldn't buy from Carvana as they have a problem handling titles.

I'm aware of the title problem with Carvana. My neighbor bought a truck earlier this month and still doesn't have the title.
"Carvana says..." Who cares what they "say;" they can still do whatever they want. As times have turned on them of late I'd not trust a word of it. A lot of owners took the money and ran when prices and Carvana (and similar) were going nuts a while back during their buying spree. Hence, I'm not surprised to see the proportion of C7s you reported having been at Carvana at one time. However, such in the history would be a red flag for me to avoid those, looking elsewhere at others I'd have some chance of learning the history of. Good luck on your search.
