Default Calipers

I just became a member of the C7 nation. I picked up a 2016 Z06 last Friday. I want the calipers to match the car which is Velocity Yellow, they're currently red. Should I paint them, get caliper covers, ones that are already painted, or powder coated. I'll also be replacing the brake pads to reduce the dust.

Welcome to the Corvette world!

As for brakes matching the car, I personally would find OEM yellow Z06 calipers and swap.

Paint will never be as tough as the oem enamel stuff.

Covers are... you shouldn't have said covers, haha. Just kidding, but people will rip into you about even considering those.

Swap is the best approach, then recoup your costs when you sell the reds you have.

Welcome to the community.
Caliper covers are cheesy, don't do that to your Z06.
There's specialized paint kits for calipers, where some have been satisfied with results and some not, power coating is best long term re-color option.
As suggested above, if you are not the DIYer type, purchasing new calipers in your color of choice may be the best option even though fairly costly.

Welcome, to the Z06 experience!

I have factory red calipers on an Artic White Z51. If you have the time and money, I would look for OEM. They look good and they last a long time.

Pretty much a consensus on NO covers. Personally, I think they look cheesy, but I wanted to cover all my bases. There's nothing cheap about a set of four OEM's, what about cost of powder coated ones?

Keep in mind disassembly, and reassembly if you are going to powder coat.
Some places don't do that, and expect to get and give back just the caliper, no pistons, seals, etc...

Not to mention the Corvette decals.

To get the best results its pretty simple really. See how much your red units sell for, then find some nice yellow ones. I bet the prices are close.
Whatever packaging they come in, use that for the reds and list on eBay or similar. Maybe you can get lucky and find a buyer that will do a swap + some minimal cost for their time. Win - win for them. Plus win for you and you have OEM quality and color.

You can get a set of powder coated calipers through an exchange program with TPS Motorsports - a forum vendor. Cost is around $700.

Agree with Vetteman Jack. Swapped mine from black to red. Very happy with the calipers.

Spend the money to get them powder coated. Sure you can paint them, but it will look as such. I know these are not C7 calipers (they are C6) but you can see the outstanding results when you powder coat them:

For caliper decals,
GS Creations sell, near OEM style/quality, decals.
Not cheap but best I could find.
4-6 weeks delivery.
I ordered 2 sets one year ago.
The color of the OE lettering is specific to the color of the OE caliper.

No matter what way you go make sure that you NEVER get brake fluid or brake cleaner on the finished caliper.
