Sputtering at WOT
HI all
I have a 2014 c7 z51 and recently when I went WOT the engine is sputtering? Could this be a plug or plug wire problem? Fuel pump was replaced a year ago along with 1 bad injector. You expert advice comments would be appreciated on where to start? I was thinking replacing all new plugs and plug wires first?

Checking if there is CEL codes is always good. Check air-filter, tubes, and box, could be starving for air.
Others will help with suggestions. Add more info like Odometer reading, history, why fuel pump was changed, .... and especially if there are any modifications. Are you first owner?

Just ordered a ODBC scanner, I have no check engine lights will I see codes? The car has 35K miles on it, AA supercharger and fuel pump failed a year ago so it was replaced by mechanic along with 1 fuel injector. Yes I am the original owner. I will check airlifter but I doubt with such low miles it be dirty?

Could be a plug or wire, but as mentioned check the codes once you get your scanner and go from there.
like seventeen dollars gets you a canbus-compliant bluetooth obd reader and software for your phone to use it.
dunno about you or the OP, but even at sub-livable wages, the time it takes to go to/from the nearest parts store will quickly outvalue simply purchasing a dongle.

You had a fuel pump changed. The one in the fuel tank I would assume. Isn't there a high-pressure fuel pump in the engine compartment also.
Sorry, I don't know for sure. Just trying to be helpful. Is there an after-market supercharger on the car? I am guessing too much air or not enough fuel.
Is there an after-market throttle-body? Smarter people will help guide you to the cause. I believe asking questions will lead to the correct answer.

It was not the one in the fuel tank, the sputtering seems to happen more now and even under spirited acceleration and does kind of sound like misfire. is misfire a bad thing for my car?
Sounds like the engine is running lean under throttle. If thats the case a lot of possible issues could be the cause, and you’ll need to do some diagnostics. My guess is the fuel pump is getting weak and about to fail. I had an issue with my c6 that was identical to what you’re describing, and it was the electric fuel pump in the tank going bad.
If it is a lean condition, you won’t see any codes right away, the code won’t trigger until the condition persists long enough to push the long term average fuel trim number out of range.

get your car to a mechanic who can experience it and tell you what's wrong, if anything. I just saw you mentioned it's supercharged, so there's a high chance it's a tune issue, bad fuel, or parts failure. the diagnosis of this is going to be a bit beyond your capabilities, even with help from a forum, judging by the questions you're asking.

My old C5 did this and it would throw a CEL. It happened suddenly. It was a MAF code and turned out to be a frail wire in the loom going into the MAF.
bought the car in November. It was one owner, all OEM. 18K miles. It has 25K on it now!
I was suspecting the MAF ... will clean that johnny tomorrow and see what happens.
