What year C7 do you have?

Found this hold to on a website:Thank you Texhawk0!!!

When you add new sensors to the car, the manual tells you just to drive for 10 min over 12 mph and they will auto-calibrate. That’s true with most of them, but for some reason every now and again you will get a set that won’t calibrate and it just says “service TPMS system”. Even when the TPMS part # is the correct one (13581560) Many of the wheel vendors have found this out. You can then take it to the dealer and he can do it…(for a charge)

But you don’t have to. Texhawk0 wrote me with this procedure, not sure where he found it, but it works!
  1. start car – actual engine running – not the Acc mode
    2. Select the tire pressure display in the DIC.
    3. Press and hold the SEL button until the display changes and the horn beeps. It now says it’s in learn mode.
    4. Now drive just as it says in the manual – 10 min or so above 12 mph. – this is the new part – Chev says use a dealer tool – not necessary!
    5. Suddenly, it will find all 4 sensors and show pressure
    6. when you shut the car off , the “learn DIC” will show again and horn beeps.

I don't know about setting them manually, but I'm willing to bet if you have a Discount Tire store near you they would take care of that for you.

Are the new TPMS oem or aftermarket? That might make a difference.

I had this problem. When I bought my car, none of the TPMS sensors worked. I tried everything. Ended up taking it to Discount tire. They scanned them and confirmed they weren't working. When the last guy had tires put on , the dealer did something or put in the wrong ones. He said they never worked. Discount put all new ones in and they work perfectly.

Default Tpms

I picked up a ‘16 Z51 and I have Passenger Front TPMS not being seen. I tried the aforementioned fix three times but no good. Any ideas? Thank you.

The dashes means the car isn't receiving pressure info from the sensor, logical.
The sensor battery may be dead, possible with 7 years/23k miles.
You can go to Discount Tires and they usually have a machine that will tell the condition of the sensor. A dealer can probably do the same but will charge more.
Downside of DT is that sometimes they install aftermarket sensors that can have problems. The real ones are made by Schraeder.

Let us know what you find!

It's usually best to start a thread on a new problem.

However..

Look at your side lights. Are they OEM or aftermarket LEDs? OEMs have a couple of bulbs in the side markers, the LED sidelights have a full string of light from end to end.

Joyce's Vette, you can swap the 2 front tires/wheels, side to side. That will insure the problem is only related to the wheel TPMS, not the pickup sensor.
Sullivan tire was able to read and check my 2017 TPMS transmitters.
Good luck, keep us updated.

What Elmer said...I have that exact problem...whenever the lights are on, the TPMS will drop out the RF tire in a few minutes....drving with the lights off for a few minutes will reset the system...

if it's dropping out like that it's the sensor
I had a nightmare sensor problem when I got a 2nd set of wheels, reset them about 20 times before finally giving up and replacing the 2 sketchy ones
It's been years now and I've never had the problem again.
I also bought the handheld tool for setting them as mentioned in the post above

It really sucks because in this car the sensor dropping out makes the cars stability control go into a limp mode and it shutters around every turn when you aren't even pushing the car.

Default Update on TPMS.

It was the sensor, replaced it today with the help of my friends at Viti Automotive. Tucked it in behind the pressed down tire, (did not have to dismount from rim), re-inflated, re-install, reprogram and done. Thank you Tony, Jay, Joe and the rest who helped. It’s not everyday there’s a Vette in one of the best Benz dealers in the region.
