NHTSA has a VIN Decoder that will give you some info. The VIN will tell you what year the car is, if the car is a Stingray, GS, Z06, or ZR1. It will also tell you if it is a coupe or convertible. It will not tell you if it is a Z51 or not. That info will be on the RPO sticker in the trunk for 2014 to 2017 or 2018. I have a 19 GS and the RPO info is contained in a QR sticker on the driver's door.

I'm pretty sure they have have different production numbers for the different models. Barrett Jackson is offering a 2017 with a 001 VIN number.

Agree. My production number starts with a 7 and I'm pretty sure that they didn't produce 700,000+ Corvettes in 2016.
