Default Glass top differences

Looking at getting a glass top for my 2016. I looked at Melrose Corvette. They have glass new or rebuilt tops for less (when shipped) than used ones. Is there a difference between an OES glass top and the ones sold at Melrose?

Melrose is a GM supplier for those tops. Friend just ordered one with all the correct GM logo info on the top.

Their reputation is quite good, but at nearly $2K for a top shipped with tax? I would look at Craigslist, so many people sell them in the southern states... I was one of them. Look to pay $500-$700 on C-list, and it will be OEM. JMHO.

One thing to consider is to try and find one relatively close to you so that the top can be inspected and if bought, transported home in a safe manner. The tops are bulky and easy to damage unless packaged very well for shipping.

Thanks for the responses. I will look for used a bit more before I spring for a new one. I am finding most in the for sale section to be around 1500, shipping will likely be around 200. Melrose has new ones for 1700 free shipping. If I could find one around a thousand I would jump on it.

When I shopped these last spring, Melrose Corvette had the best deal on new tops.

Shipping was prompt. The top was well-packed and as advertised. FWIW, I remain happy with the transaction and recommend Melrose.

I've used them for my Clear Top for my GS. They are a great company to work with. Their products and prices are on point. I highly recommend them!

Newer tops as with the C7 are an acrylic type.

There was one on my 17. From the outside it looked black. Inside looking out it had a blue tint. Are all of the transparent C7 tops this way ?

I paid $1500 for mine. After looking for a while. Found it local. Worth every penny. Good luck!

I bought from them before. Decent people. I didn't ship it. I drove to their place to see their operation before doing anything. Bought it and picked it up.

Based on the recommendation here for Melrose in Illinois, I ordered the OEM GM tansparent roof from Melrose. They shipped it from Illinois on Wednesday and it was at my home in Northern Virginia on Friday. I called them to order it, they were very professional, answered my questions, and super nice to deal with. The packaging was very impressive and the top arrived pharmacuetically pristine. Big shout out and kudos to Melrose T-Tops!

I also ordered the heat shield that easily attaches with suctions cups. I put the transparent top on yesterday. I love it. Really brightens up the interior. I keep the sunshield in the hatch for when I will need it in the heat of the summer and Florida vacations.

In the later 1970's Lincoln offered a Full Glass Fixed Moonroof on the Town Coupe instead of the traditional sunroof and that did the same trick. For those that like the interior bright.
