I need to replace my C6 track car and I was debating a C6 Z06, a ‘11 GS, ‘15 Z51. Today, a 2017 Grand Sport popped up on Autotrader in Miami. I was dropping off my wife at MIA so I thought I’d check it out while I was down there. I couldn’t pass it up, so tomorrow I pick her up.
The Grand Sport was engineered for serious track use. Let us know how it handles after your first hot lap event. Maybe at Homestead-Miami or Palm Beach International or a bit more technical like Roebling Road.
I’ll be at Sebring the beginning of May! Can’t wait to see how it stacks up to the C6. The C6 was no slouch. It had Z06 suspension, all new delrin bushings, all new wheel hubs, race trans, rebuild torque tube, 420 rwhp. My best ever track day was in it last trip to Sebring. I had a C5 FRC track car before the C6 and it messed with my head that I had 295 or 315s on the front of the C5 but couldn’t put anything near that big on the C6. Shouldn’t be an issue with the GS.
Funny that when the C7 came out I told my son that I didn’t like it. But now the C8 is out, the C7 has grown on me. First thing he said when I sent him pictures was, “I thought you hated C7s.”
