If you track use the 0-40. If you don't track you can use what the owners manual says. For my 2017 the book and the oil cap say Mobile 1 full sysnthetic 5-30. But using 0-40 does not hurt anything other then dent the wallet a little more. As far as for street use the operating paramters/stress of the Vette does not come close to what the oil can handle.
Found this on the web, both links basically said that for the 2019 models the oil filled from factory was changed to Mobil 1 0W-40, both state that you can use both 5W-30 or 0W-40 for all previous model years. Have attached both links at the end of post. Hope this help.
Not much changes for the 2019 Corvette model year, save for the arrival of the C7 Corvette ZR1, but one small difference will likely save many owners a headache or two.
All 2019 C7 Corvettes will be factory-filled with Mobil 1 0W-40 synthetic motor oil, which may not seem like a big deal, but it is. The oil blend is rated for street and track use, which will keep owners from changing oil every time they plan on taking their Corvette to a track event.
Previous C7 Corvettes were filled with 5W-30, but Mobil 1’s 15W-50 was recommended for track events.
However, 2019 C7 Corvette ZR1 owners will still want to keep 15W-50 on hand. The 0W-40 label still recommends the track-use oil for the 6.2-liter supercharged LT5 V8 engine for maximum track performance.
Hey, I’m already having enough trouble finding 0-40 ESP for my 19Z. I’ve sold my kidneys to pay for the 12 quarts I just purchased. Stop creating extra demand by jumping on the 0 40 ESP bandwagon
