Build question?
I saved the text because I plan to do it at some point.
Hi All, I just wanted to share with you the combo I have on my personal 2019 Z06. It is not the end-all fastest car, nor the best ET'ing Z06 out there, but I do feel it is a great package that is just so well rounded.
Let me start by saying I drive the heck out of this car, I already have 14k on it and it has seen the pacific ocean on an N.W. Pacific tour with the guys from Adventure Drives, through a ton of national parks, Maine, VT, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and next week I will be road race it in Florida's PBIR. So I wanted to be able to run all out on anything from 91 octane to straight E85 or anything in between, which I can and have been on the road course with each end of the spectrum. Although I do like the cooling effects of meth injection, I did not want it for this build since I do so much driving away from home and carrying meth in the car is not what I wanted to do.
Mods are as follows;
18% balancer (a 2.30 upper actually adds a touch more boost over the balancer so that's usually what we use)
Drop in air filter from our supercharger kit
AFE front pipes
Flex fuel sensor
rear tires and tuning -note that earlier model Z06's will need a low side fuel pump
On straight E85 I am 100% at the limit of my fuel system, but it has been well proven to stand the test of a lot of hard miles on and off the track. I drive it to the track, it lifts the wheels nicely off the line and dips into the 9's. I have walked away from an Aventador SVJ, Mclaren's, to a stock ZR1 without a problem.
Never before have I owned a car that runs this fast for so little effort or any downsides to the modifications, nor have I ever owned a car where I thought "I'm happy with the mods I have, I'm going to leave it alone from here", but I just love the balance of power to usability so much that I doubt I will do any more power mods to the car. If I didn't drive it so much far from home I'm sure I would, but for me, I have found what I consider the "sweet spot".
