A big THANK YOU to all who responded to the dust issue. I was using the CD in circular motion, I will now stop that. It is garage kept but the dust up here is crazy. My car was ceramic coated by a professional detailer so it was done correct......I hope. I will try some of the products you guys mentioned, trouble is up here in Canada we don’t have the same stuff you guys do....now I have a direction to go.....Thanks to you

My detailer that ceramic coated my car said to use swiffer dusters. They have a static charge that pulls the dust away. Been using them for almost 2 yrs now without scratches or residue left behind.
I've been using the California Car Duster for many years without any issues. The key is in the directions provided with the duster....take it out of the bag, turn it over and let the excess parafin wax dry out before you use it....I let mine sit for a week or 2. No problems at all! Also, when using, do not apply any pressure, just let the weight of the duster do it's thing. Once done, give it a good shake then store in the bag until the next use.
The video above is not 100% accurate. Yes, it has good points, but there are many quick detailing products out there that do what he says they don't. Adams has products that can be used for dusty car surfaces as well as products for removing dirt from the painted surface. The issue is using them correctly and with the proper microfiber towels. I have been using their products for over 15 years. I have tried other top brands but always go back to Adams.
Here are three photos my C5 Torch Red, then my C6 Monterey Red and my C7 Velocity Yellow. All done with Adams and always detail spray between washes to remove dust and minor dirt.
I had a guy on a Facebook Group basically tell me that I was an idiot for using a California Duster. Didn't matter to him that I have been using one since their inception almost 30 years ago, on my various Corvettes to maintain show quality paint. If used properly, you get more potential dust scratches in your clearcoat while driving at highway speeds than you do with a California Duster.
Everybody is an expert, just ask them!!
After each drive, I use a California Duster, gently applied to the car's surface, to remove the dust. I follow up with a microfiber towel and some Adam's Detail Spray. Makes the car shine and I have not experienced and swirl marks or damage to the paint.
That is my exact routine. You MUST use the California Duster LIGHTLY, without applying any pressure. Following up with a good detail spray & a high-quality microfiber towel are the keys to success. I've been doing this for about 15 years on my Vettes with great success.
This is effective for DUST ONLY. If it rained on your car, or if there is any sort of built-up grime or dirt, you have to wash it. If you don't, the California Duster and/or the microfiber towel will spread the dirt & will leave marks on the paint.

I can see more paint imperfections under certain lighting. Is it possible that an expert such as Esoteric is using an examination light and sees what we do not see.
I always use a duster. The only thing I have noticed is if you don't have a good wax or coating on the car it leaves streaks. Other than that no problems here.
I always wrap a newly purchased duster in newspaper for several days to absorb the excess paraffin and that helps eliminate some of the streaking. The more you use it, the less streaking.
I use it when I go to a car show, if used properly I cannot see it causing damage. I have used them for years, and I am a detail nut.. never scratched my car .. I'd notice trust me. Keep it stored properly and make sure it's not contaminated by something..

I live on a farm 2 1/2 miles from the nearest paved road so unless it has recently rained I deal with dust every time I drive one of the vettes. My SOP is to drive around 8-10 mph until I get to the highway to avoid rock chips. I've installed ACS xl splash guards and full length side skirts to help alleviate that. I then drive three miles at speed to my country church and break out the CD. The drive takes care of most of the dust and light use of the duster takes care of the rest.
A friend asked me why I do that to which I replied "As it is written, woe be to he that cruiseth in a dusty chariot" 😆😆😆
Get busy... Get off your chase lounge.. Apply no less than 5 (five) coats of Maguires, purhaps more, to the surface of the paint... Think of it as a dutiful healthy therapy... if you're a typical Corvette ol timer unable to bend down to the ground you are **** outta luck! Spend some of that money you got and hire a pool boy or whatever. 🤨
