Default spark plug replacement

Got a few projects coming up on my C7, spark plugs is on the list. What have you guys installed? OEM? something better? I'll also upgrade the wires too. I'm in the 'parts gathering' phase at the moment.

Also coming up:
belt tensioner
belt
coolant

that should keep me busy for a couple/few days.

No gains with any "performance" plugs.Stock are the best option.

How many miles on your car? Without referring back to the owner's manual, I believe spark plugs are scheduled for replacement at 100K miles.

When the time comes, I plan to go with the stock stuff. My car only has 7300 miles on it so should be quite a while until a change is needed.

Turning 88,000 in a week or so.

I figured stock plugs would be fine. Just wanted to be sure.

Dave, no blower in my ride. Figured I'd put in upgraded wires since I'll be pulling the old ones out anyway.

I had a plug/wire failure at 23,000 miles on my 2018 Z06 (the misfire code doesn't specify if it's a plug or wire misfiring the mechanic said). So, he replaced both the plug and wire on #5 cylinder. The car ran like a top.. for about 200 miles, then developed another dead miss. This time, it was #6 cylinder. I had all 8 plugs and wires replaced and no problems for about 300 miles now. My neighbor down the street, has a 2016 zo6. Neither of us could believe a failure occurred at that low milage.... Strange was it seems; his car developed a dead miss, and he has about 35,000 miles on his car. His was # 3 cylinder. New plugs and wires solved his problem.

After some investigation we learned that some Corvette mechanics believe there was a "batch" of bad wires installed on C7's. Most appear to be on the Z06 models, or perhaps something about Z06's make the wires fail prematurely (not often, but on some cars).

I went with stock wires/plugs because I didn't know at the time about the speculative issue of there being weak factory wires on some cars. My friend (who used a renowned Corvette mechanic here in Houston) went with upgraded aftermarket wires and NGK plugs.

Not sure this situation applies to you or to most others for that matter, but it is a couple of data points for you to consider.

OEM plugs it is.

I was going to get wires from Granatelli with red insulation sleeves. It would compliment the engine dress up I already have.

You have chosen well grasshopper! I do think there are "performance parts" for the GM sold by GM that are red in color. I did that on my 98 Camaro and they looked purdy.

Why should stock plugs not be used with a blower, may I ask?

One Corvette tech told me that at 50k miles the plugs are fine, at 100k they definitely need changed.
Sounds like you're at a good change point.
