Default Very Difficult Time Consuming mod..

Actually took a few minutes lol.. I wasn't sure about it, but after driving around.. I really like it over the button. Kinda funny we have a "Secret" Compartment with a button showing where it is. It's from Sandyeggo Designs if anyone wants to check one out.

I have several Sandyeggo Designs products and they are all of great quality. And while I like the idea, that design doesn’t work for me. Now if Dave had kept the left side of the cover to match the trim edge (don’t let it extend past the edge of the black trim and onto the carbon fiber dash trim) and possibly used “CORVETTE” on top of some crossed flags instead of the ‘Jake’ logo…I’d buy one in a minute…

Maybe if he doesn’t do it…someone out on the CF with a 3D printer will. Just send me one for free. You’re welcome, lol…seriously someone out there could do this!

That was my second mod to the car when I got it. I think it was a great idea by them...

It makes sense to me. Why did GM never think of this.

That..and the Jake logo itself is just to cheesy for me, but as they say…different strokes for different folks.

I like the idea also but that "thing" matches nothing and looks totally out of place. Actually a eyesore in my book.

What "secret compartment?" I've never used the thing, not once in almost 7-years. Who wants a fiasco (as can happen with the unmodified gas-door) where it won't open at some critical moment if one has been lulled into using it, that with no mechanical back-up (do an "Advanced search" here). Not I. So, you hiding the access button makes perfect sense to me.

I agree. I like several of the Sandyeggo Designs products, but in a lapse of judgment on my part I actually bought one of these things. I haven’t had the guts to install it and probably never will. Lose Jake and line in up with the edge of the trim and I might be back in.

Did the same long ago and have grown to like it more, just wish they offered it in factory carbon fiber dash match options.

No way i would put that on my car. Looks ridiculous. Besides, the "secret compartment" is a few ups and downs short of getting stuck or quit working anyway.

So with this, when you need to open the door, you have to remove this thing? But it is taped with 3M, how does it work?

No it is just held on button with a little 3M square. You just tap Jake skull as you would button.

It should be Red, White and Blue with a big lightning bolt on the button! And maybe play "Ripple" or "Touch of Gray" when you push it. LOL

I was thinking about the Hydrocarbon dip on it... pretty small though Did a photoshop mockup... I kinda like the contrast of just the original color I think. Maybe coloring in the flag area or something.. will toy around with it
