I know there is a thread on how to remove the motor. It is great and was a great resource when I removed my engine. Separating my engine from my trans was rough. The pressure plate got hung up on the shaft on the way out. There wasn't damage to the tranny shaft. My question is, does anyone put a light oil or grease on the shaft to help the two slide together? I didn't have it in netural which probably would have helped and what I intend to do on install. Also going to buy a actual hoist tilt attachment. It probably would have been as big of a deal but it was a one man job removing and installing will be the same way.
JMHO but I would make sure tranny was in gear before installing. Always seems to slide together easier.
If it isn’t in gear and you are up against the splines the input shaft will turn with engine movement. This makes getting splines to line up difficult. If it’s in gear input shaft stays put and you can turn engine to mate splines.
