Ever since the C5 there has not been a need to open doors/hood/hatch when lifting the car. The frames have been very stiff and no flexing happens.

I have owned a C3 Roadster, a C3 Coupe, a C4 Coupe, a 97 Coupe, an 03 Z06, an 08 Z06 and now the 15Z06. I never had to open the doors or the hood when jacking the cars. The C3 Roadstar and the C4 Coupe were the most flexible of these cars. The C3 Roadster would twist so much on a hard shift from 2nd to 3rd at 90 mph that the hood would pop open. Luckily, when it happened I didn't have the top up so I was able to raise myself in the seat until I slowed the car enough for the hood to drop down to where I could see over it. When I had the top off the C4 Coupe I parked it on a slope which twisted the car to the point the top wouldn't go back on until I backed off the slope so all 4 wheels were on the same plane.

All of those comments you hear about opening or closing doors, hoods, hatches on Corvettes are a Myth.

When I go to Discount Tire, they still open the doors before jacking. I've told them it's not necessary.

There is absolutely no need to open the doors when lifting a C7 Corvette
