Default Fuel Funnel Location?

Been getting acquainted with my C7 Z51 coupe. Studying my owners manual. Cant find my fueling funnel used for roadside assistance nor any mention of the location of the funnel in the car. The manual just says to locate it. OK, So where is it at? 🤷🏼‍♂️
I’m the second owner of the car. Wonder if perhaps it’s been lost or misplaced by the original owner? Hope I never need it, but ya never know.

Don’t remember where it was at delivery but I keep mine in the rear left cubby compartment of my Z06.

Yeh, that’s where I was thinking as well. But nothing there. Nor anywhere in the glovebox. Can’t think of anywhere else.

Probably right, and no big deal. Was just wondering if it was located somewhere special that I hadn’t thought of. Are those things pretty much the same for all vehicles? Have a couple other vehicles I may be able to interchange with. Or will just buy a spare at one of the local auto parts stores.

Mine (a new '2018 I got from Kerbeck's) had it in the left-rear cubby hole. I suspect that's where they all were when they left Bowling Green. The funnels are handy for putting in the annual fuel additive at the filling station beside for "emergencies."

That is where I keep mine - my car was bought used and did not have the funnel so I just bought one from GM.

Isn't that the battery compartment?

There is a little 'cut-out' for it on the foam tray cover between the battery and the carpet on the passenger side. That's where I found mine.

Hey there, Squeaky Wheel. Hope all is well with you. The funnel is located in the cargo area below the carpet and above the battery. There is a piece of foam with a cutout for it.

The cutout in the foam over the battery is for the tow hook supplied with European models...

Oops. My bad. Mine is empty and I thought that was where the funnel was located. Sorry about that. Maybe I should remove that answer. Thanks for the info.

Hey there, Squeaky Wheel. I just went out and checked. Mine is in the driver's side rear storage compartment. Thanks to RonC7 for correcting my earlier post.

A lot of owners probably didn't have any idea what it was for so just tossed it. On top of that used car preop people usually toss everything that shows up in a used car. You can make one yourself from a funnel purchased at an auto parts store. It just needs to slip in through the fuel filler opening and not catch on the valve when you pull it back out. I have a long funnel I use when I am filling the car from gas cans while at the track.

Bill.

I bought the oem tow hook and placed in it that foam so if I ever need a tow it is used for both front and back. no
way they are getting any straps under the c/f splitter and not destroy it so it was worth the 100$

The funnel needs to be long enough to open both flapper valves in the fuel tank filler pipe. I guess there are 2 flappers since there is no gas cap to seal the filler pipe.

Replacement GM funnels are available on Amazon and ebay in addition to the usual auto parts places. Generic ones are available wherever auto parts are sold.
