Heads Up Display
Had to have the windshield replaced because of a stupid mistaking my part.
Well known local company performed the replacement. Knew it was a 2LT with heads-up.
Had not driven the car much but did the last two days. Noticed the heads-up image is not very bright even adjusted to the brightest setting.
Any advise or input?
Thanks,
RWP

CAREFULLY clean the HUD window in the dash with a damp soft cloth. Clean the inside of the windshield too.
A dimmer display should not be caused by a new windshield. If not a HUD windshield the display might appear out of focus.
Also make sure the sensor on the dash is clean.

First, make sure they actually used the OEM Hud windshield.

Ok. I’ll do both and call the facility tomorrow just to make sure. Great facility. Older guys that know their cars.
Thanks

To verify, the sensor is separate from the heads up window? Must be close?
thanks

Called the installer and they said it is the correct windshield. Owner wasn’t in so I’ll call again tomorrow.

Well I think I realized the difference.
I was wearing a pair of polarized sunglasses that just about eliminated the reflection.
Non polarized don’t affect it.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

I quit wearing polarized sunglasses while driving. In my X5 the nav screen disappears if i tilt my head to the side. Not that I drive with my head tilted but polarized lenses mess with hud and other electronics.
