Help with launch control
I must be doing something wrong. 2016 Z51 without magnetic ride control. I am at a complete stop, steering wheel pointed straight ahead, track mode, push the button in the center twice, see “stabiltrack competitive driving” on the dash, press on the brake with my left foot. Floor it with the right foot.
when I do this it just lights up the back tires. What step am I missing?
Make sure you follow the OM directions which can be somewhat confusing since GM mixed two features together in the description. Here are the 2016 OM directions with the magnetic ride control/PTM words struck out. \
The arrow above points to a key point. If you push the center button a third time you shut off comp mode.
I love my M7, but this seems way more daunting with a manual than an automatic. That first to second shift especially with the Z51 gearing would be happening fast!!!

That is also why it has no lift shift. That way you can pull the shift without lifting and maintain launch control through the subsequent gears. The shift indicator in the HUD helps (watch what is ahead of you and the flashing shift lights at the same time) you time the shift so you don't hit the rev limiter. There is no need to watch the tach.

And then be sure not to miss a shift I'm being 100% honest saying I'm too chicken to try it. I would be much more at ease doing it in an automatic - I don't feel like I have enough of a rock solid feel for the 7 speed gate selection. More miles in the car would help I'm sure. Thanks Bill!
I believe only mag ride has launch control. The car needs to be put into sport or race mode, then hit the brake hard and launch. Nail the gas and when it stabilize at about 1900rpm GO!
