Default How Adaptive?

I wonder how adaptive the A8 transmission is, and if it also learns when the driver is using the paddle shifters. Recently, I had some fun driving in a pretty spirited fashion, speed a little north of the local speed limits, but mostly accelerations though the gears to close to the red line. Now the car is so much more enjoyable to drive, much more responsive, and holding the lower gears much longer in town. I would like this not to change, but fear that with daily driving the old soggy ways will return. However, my question is, if I drive with the paddles, holding gears, etc, will the transmission use that as data points for the adaptive learning, or do you just have to drive hard to keep it where it should be?

The TCM is adaptive and will shift better if you drive it like you stole it once in a while but it's not that sensitive unless you put it in learning mode either with GDS2 or manually

In learning mode the TCM is monitoring input shaft speeds and output shaft speed searching for correct preasure and shift timing to make the perfect shift at different rpms
