I let a friend drive my car (good friend obviously!) and the next morning my battery was dead. Not low, but DEAD. I was completely confused as to what happened.... everything automatically shuts off these days.... right?
Well, wrong. My e-brake switch sticks and I forgot to tell him. I just happened to notice it by pure luck. It was stuck in the down (release brake) position. This is the only thing I can think of that could have drained the battery overnight. Since getting it started I have had zero issues.
So, this is just an FYI for everyone in case you have a situation with the battery dead.
Now I need to figure out how to fix that switch from sticking (its been like that since I bought it used). Any tips???
yeah i would definitely take out of the car first to try to clean it. not worth risking messing up anything around it.
plastic and alot of cleaners dont get along, so i would tend not to drown it in some sort of electronic cleaner unless it states plastic safe.
well if u dont have a shifter yet, yeah good excuse for the mgw!
