Default C7 tint

Hi everyone I wanted to ask you all what tint specifications did you all commit to on your car? How has the experience been? I’m contemplating getting tint in the near future. Want the looks while maintaining realistic

functionality

I have Limo Tint on everything but windshield, bout as dark as they make. It can take some getting used to in a dark night.. changes visibility quite a bit. It's not for everybody

All of our cars are 35% legal tint here in Tennessee.

If you care, I would check and see what is legal in your state. Otherwise, it depends on what look you're looking for. Some people get tint strictly to keep the heat out. In that case I would definitely go with ceramic tint. Some get it strictly for the looks or so you can't see in the car. In that case, anything darker than 30% would be ideal. Tinted windshields are the new thing now. I would never do it because I like to see when I drive but it doesn't look too bad. You just want to pick a reputable shop that has done C7's before.
The guy I bought my car from had 35% Xpel ceramic installed. It's not super dark but it definitely helps with the sun.

35 sides and rear, 50 windshield. xpel ceramic is my tint of choice.

any darker is asking for problems with night driving and the law.

Be careful how dark you go, so check with your state. I've known of people that have been pulled over because the tint was too dark..

Just had 15% 3M ceramic done. Looks way better. No one cares how dark it is where I live.

As Red08 stated, there's more to it than simply what one may like or prefer. All the best, in any event.

I have not had tint installed yet but in Missouri the sides can be no more than 35% while the back can be much darker. When/if I do tint the car, I will go with the 35% on the sides and around 18% on the back.

5% All around and 35% on the windshield.
Pros: Can actually stay cool in Texas heat. Looks really good. No one can see what you're doing inside
Cons: I don't ever get pulled over for tint, but if I do get pulled over I always get cited for it. It's dark as hell at night. Difficult to see far ahead in the dark which isn't so nice if you're driving unfamiliar roads with potholes or random dips. If I don't roll my side windows down I can't be confident I'm not going to curb my wheels driving through a parking lot.

I have a hard time deciding if I want to keep it this dark or not sometimes because it looks good and makes a huge difference during the day, but it really is a pain in the *** at night sometimes.

IMHO I'd lighten it up a little. It's dangerous and a pain in the *** rolling your windows up and down to see when you turn. Especially at night time, been there done that. I'd get pulled over instantly where I live. Chicago northwest suburb. Good luck

I have 5% ceramic on sides/rear. All my vehicles are like this. I would do my windshield but I like driving at night without issues lol.
