The only thing I did differently from this guy's video was that I got my casters at Harbor Freight for $1.99 each. I also used long cable ties and criss crossed them so that they don't slip off. Really - the 3M tape and a cable tie holds these casters on quite well. If you place them in the right area, the casters are in the air when the jacks are in the UP position and don't support any weight of the car as shown below. They are only for moving the quick jacks around the floor and getting them into position.
I did this almost 2 years ago using double faced tape. Everything is still in place and the rollers are still working perfectly.
Absolutely no issues and no regrets.
I added the casters from HF as well. I noticed the last time I used it one of the metal ***** from a caster was missing. Found it rolling around the back of my garage I'll need to either replace them or find better ones.
I love coming to this site and finding inexpensive ideas that are cheap and effective - without the Corvette Tax!
I had installed on my QJ 7000 a set of small swivel casters that was posted on a previous thread. But since they have to turn, they were a PITA so I was looking for a replacement.
Although there is a HF near me, I decided to get these even though they are plastic housing. I used a tie wrap and wrapped around the QJ arm and it through two holes in the caster just to keep the glue on tight. I would screw them on but it is hot here in the Florida Inferno and I am lazy.
It sure moves easily and does not stall like swivel caster did.
Thank you for the idea!
