Looking for some guidance with regards to headlight bulb replacement on my 2014 Z51. Passenger side bulb is out.
I have a great body guy that will take care of removing the front fascia and installing the new bulb. I'm going to replace both bulbs while it's apart.
Is there any advantage in replacing with the GM13587843 that cost ~ $120 - $150 each, versus using an Osram or Philips D3S equivalent? As far as I am aware, GM sources it's bulbs from Osram primarily. The Osram or Philips bulbs cost around $70 each.
Also, any need to replace the ballasts while in there??
I went through that same thought process when I had to replace mine and decided to get the OEMs at Amazon for $122 each. I just didn't think it was worth saving $100 for the other brands although they might be perfectly fine. It cost me $400 in labor because of all they had to remove and replace anyway. The ballasts were checked when they installed the bulbs and were given the OK, but that's another thing that can go at anytime. You can save a lot of money if you can do it yourself. I wasn't interested in doing it myself even though I could have fumbled my way through it.

Thanks for your input. The Chevy dealer that services my Vette quoted me 2.3 hours labor @ $175 / hour for a total of $402.50 in labor to do the work.
My go to Body Shop quoted me $350 for labor, with a cautionary note that they don't work on alot of Corvettes. For the Extra $50 I'm gonna have the Chevy Dealership do the job. They are OK with me supplying my own bulbs. They wanted $200 + for each bulb
