C7 Audio Upgrade Help Needed
First off, I'm excited to join this group in my new to me, 2015 Torch Red Stingray (1LT trim, 7 speed). Loving the car in the two weeks that I have had it. I know I will likely do some performance upgrades in the near future, and have pretty much made up my mind on those, which will likely be an AFE cold intake and the AWE Touring Exhaust. Will likely keep it to these minimal performance upgrades the first year.
The sound in my car (base, 9 speaker) doesn't work for me (yes, I have tried playing with the minimal tone settings and fader), but, its just not clear, sharp and bass is just messy. My Tesla model 3 with the stock sub sounds phenomenal compared to the vette, of course, the vettes engine sounds phenomenal compared to the Tesla
!I want to upgrade to likely two 8" subs to start, and try to keep the existing factory speakers. I would like to add maybe a 5 channel amp. In talking to a couple stereo shops, Im not sure if I need a diginal DSP, and LCI or PAC converter. IF im still not happy with the sound with a new amp and factory speakers, then ill plan to start swapping out the factory speakers as well.
Any input on the control interface required would be greatly appreciated. Sorry in advance if this has been covered, in my quick search, I couldn't find an answer and didnt see any sticky regarding audio, which I understand since this is a performance car

‘Having said that, if you’re going to invest that much into a DSP and multichannel amp, might as well replace the speakers and add a sub with its own amp or built into the multichannel amp. You probably want to listen to some music or have sounds (Nav prompts, CarPlay, etc) coming through the stock headunit so the best way to go about is to having 2 tuning profiles on the DSP. One for grabbing and summing from the headunit and seperate pure source (either Bluetooth streaming, LDAC, APTX-HD) from either you smartphone or a dedicated High Res Player to get the very best sound quality form your music (preferably lossless). If it were me, I’d do a simple 3-way front stage and a sub. No need to complicate things with a center channel which will mess up imaging and my preference is no rear fill but that’s of course up to you. So figure a 6-channel amp and another amp for the sub or a combination of amps to meet that requirement. Then run new wiring the doors and aftermarket speakers. The stock front woofers are massive 10” can fit a very nice 8-9” 3-way system in there for amazing midbass. Then add a sealed or ported enclosure for a sub. Keep things clean. New speakers, wiring, 3-way front stage, pure signal from a seperate source.
