PART number 84664816 is the correct number for the screen BUT the picture on GM Parts Giant shows just the screen and the things needed to hook it up. When I got the dealer to look this up in reality it's a lot more complicated than it looks. I saw the thing and it's a great big part. Anybody had theirs replaced and how complicated is it? The coating on my screen is gone because I tried to clean the finger prints off of the thing it looks like crap down at the bottom. I'm caught between replacing the screen to satisfy my OCD or learn to live with it. My car for a 9 year old Z51 is in real good condition and I try to keep it that way I bought it new. Can you say CONUNDRUM?
My used 2017 Z51 also had lots of fingermarks on the infotainment screen from the previous owners; the appearance of the screen was greatly improved after I carefully installed a screen protector glass from Amazon (link below).

Replacing the screen is pretty involved if you have never taken the dash trim apart before.
I've done it before to replace the dash trim to CF and took my time. Great how-to videos on Youtube.
Although I did not take out my screen, but when I was in my dash already, it would not have been a big deal at that point to swap.
Lots of pieces have to come off to get to that point, but I was not intimidated.

Also wondering about any damage if you needed to remove it? And @orwollma how much would you say it hid or cut back on seeing the existing fingerprint marks - 25%, 50%, 75%, etc? Would love a pic of it
I put on a gloss screen protector 2 months after I bought my car new in 2017 and it looked really good. Once I drove the car I had reflections that were quite annoying to me and made the screen hard to see in bright light. So I took it off and put on a matte finish screen protector. The matte finish protector screen made the infotainment screen not as bright but it had very little reflection. The gloss protector screen also still had lots of finger prints and the matte finish hardly shows fingerprints. I still have the matte protector on with no issues.
How is the response on the touch screen after the install?
I haven't noticed any change in the touch response since I installed the screen protector early last year. I've attached a screen shot of my audio page showing the finger smudges are all covered up.

Since the glass is held in place by static attraction and doesn't use any adhesive, there should not be any damage if you decide to remove it. I think for my car it covered the finger smudges completely. I've attached two pics from the periods before and after installing the screen protector. In the upper pic, you can see some of the finger smudges during the Nav update. In the lower pic with the screen protector installed, I think the smudges are completely covered.
Before screen protector glass; notice the smudged areas on the screen. After screen protector glass installed.

corvettezman Is this the screen replacement? GM Parts Giant just shows one piece if you have time will you look at that and tell me? I'm confused the dealer's part was a lot more involved than that and they are adamant when they tell me that their part is correct BUT it doesn't look like what they ordered. Their piece looked like it would take a NASA engineer to replace it.
So now I am confused I just watched a video on You Tube by a guy known as Corvette Hop showing how to replace the screen. When he showed the new unit it had a different part number than what I've been using. Oh Well !!

How is the response on the touch screen after the install?
I just got mine yesterday and after careful cleaning of the screen the best I could without using chemicals, I installed this and the look is much better improved and so is the smudge proofing.
To answer your question, I found the touch response to be slightly diminished but tolerable.
There is always the choice of pulling the protector off if you don't like it and you're only out $10 or so.
It is just static cling and no glues are used. No permanent damage from using this product. I had to lift it a few times around the corners and let go to get few bubbles underneath out.
Installation was straight forward.
