Ceramic all the way. Had mine professionally PPF'd on the front fascia, rocker panels and mirrors, and the rest of the car ceramic coated four years ago. Finish is still slick, and the car still looks great.

Just wondering, can you put the ceramic coating on the ppf? I purchased some stuff on line and want to make sure I can put it over the ppf.
I can see if you drive your car without dopler help.Keep it outdoors with no garage.Or are physically unable to ,Wax on Wax off efficiently.Ceramic is a Plus and Must for:
Bling On That Thing

Short answer: Yes.
Longer answer: It depends.
There are coatings better suited to being placed on top of PPF like Xpel. PPF has more flexibility and lower durometer than the panel, so some ceramics are a bit too stiff to jive well. Xpel + CeramicPro 9h worked for me on my GT-R.

Yes you can and it will protect the PPF. PPF is porous so it will get dirty/dingy over time. I ceramic coated my entire car including the PPF on the nose, hood, front fenders, rockers and rear quarters. I did use an all in one polish on everything prior by hand to reduce swirls and clean the surface. The PPF'd sections were harder to wipe the polish residue off, but it did not hurt it since it was a very mild product and I did not use a machine.
The car looks great and is so easy to clean. I rarely have to touch it when washing unless there are larger bug splatters on the front.
My Z & wife's car are ceramic coated. They clean up easily & quick. But I only did this because she insisted. It was expensive. I prefer waxing, especially using C-Magic and their ceramic detail spray. And yes, there are many comparable waxes. Depends in how you like to spend your time. And money.
I feel that ceramics limit "pop" and depth, but are easier if you don't want to live the wax life.. it's a lot of back breaking work to maintain it I will NEVER have ceramic on my Corvette, but that's me Pic is no prep just went to a car event in Alden a few days ago. Quicksilver snapped a few pics, no retouching or photoshop lol Ask Quicksilver on here, he has seen my car in person.. he'll tell ya' what it's like.. pics don't do it justice. Once you do a good base color correct, etc. etc. maintaining is easy, hell I have been caught in the rain, not much ever sticks to my Corvette.. I may go ceramics when I am just too old to maintain my car at this level
Car looks great, Rob!
Do you carry that checkered flag mat with you to shows? It also looks cool.
I switched to ceramic after doing some research after being a long-time wax person. I was reluctant to have it done professionally as I did not want a long-lasting coating for a few different reasons. I happen to enjoy taking care of the finish on my car and spending the time doing so and I knew once I applied or had the long-lasting coating on, I really would not have anything to really do to the car. So, I went with the spray on coating as it was advertised to last up to 2 years. Now I know that if the car is driven daily and subject to the elements, that was not true, but I am retired so while I do drive the car, it is not out every day and is garaged kept. So, I only have to use the products needed in the maintenance phase. Besides those products one is a detail spray and other is used if the car is dirty, but not to the point that it needs a full wash. About every three months I apply the Ceramic Boost. These are all of the Graphene Ceramic family.
I used several types of wax over the years on several Vettes. A year ago I finally decided to go with a ceramic coating. I have had Xpel on my last four Vettes and decided to go with Xpel Fusion since it is the recommended ceramic over Xpel (maybe hype, but it was worth it to me to use another Xpel product). My 2019 GS is very easy to clean and it shines like it was just waxed. I no longer have to spend hours waxing so it is worth it to me. There are several self-applied ceramic coating on the market, but I wanted a professional to apply the Xpel Fusion ceramic coating. Good luck.
My younger days, had no problem washing and waxing my car on a Saturday morning. Those days are behind me (knocking on 60 yrs of age).... went the PPF and Ceramic route (1st time with the current '17 GS Black Rose) to see if the benefits were good FOR ME. Only had the car back one week since having it done. Will expect it to be easier to clean but will see how long it'll last... can't put a cost on avoiding body aches and the ride maintains its shine!!! Body and wheels coated.
