Depending on what you are willing to spend there are many options. If you want arrows to show where the source is, the Valentine V1G2, Uniden R7/R8 or the Escort 360Max/Redline 360 are your choices. The Escorts are the most hands off as they update automatically but Unidens' new website app has taken away most of the confusion that used to plague updating them. I presently own a Uniden R8 and an Escort Redline 360c and previously had R7 and 360c Max. I cannot personally comment on the Valentine as I have never owned one. I have read the Valentine is more "hands on" for updates and incorporating the JBV1 app. Any of them will likely give you adequate warning if you are not at an insane speed or they don't pop you with instant on or laser. The R8 has slightly more range than the Escort but falses more often. The Escort has a more quality feel and look to it while the Uniden is a bit more "plasticy" and much lighter weight.
The top of the line non arrow units from either of these manufacturers are all quality units. I would go to the Vortex Radar site to choose one of those.
Personally I am not a fan of the Blendmount mirror mount as it blocks a fair amount of windshield area below the mirror. At my height of 6'1" the upper frame of the glass blocks many overhead traffic lights and the Blendmount blocks the right hand lower mounted traffic signal lights for me. YMMV So far I have been getting by with a bean bag on the dash. Not perfect but easily removeable/hideable when parked or overnighting away from home.

The Vantine was literally the Originator of the Arrows telling you where the radar is coming from, and every version has it. And yet you leave them on the list of non Arrows...... someone either don't know crap or very biast.

(my emphasis).
You misunderstood his meaning.
Chill out.
I've been using a Valentine for 20+ years and think they're great, but there are other good competitors.

Massive brain fart on my part! I have never owned a Valentine, so did not want to comment on the performance or features other than what I had read and therefore suggested checking at the Vortex site.. Mea culpa!

I did not misunderstand him, this is quoted directly.

He even commented he was mistaken. Not trying to be a jerk, but I also did not miss read it. mistakes happen but that's a Huge one when it comes to Arrows and Radar detectors. Might as well said all Corvettes are 4 cylinders. anyway its all done now.

I went back and corrected my original post to include the Valentine with the arrow detectors. I hope that makes you feel better. I made a mistake of omission and am sorry to have mislead the entire Corvette world.
So I use nothing. That's right, NOTHING! Relying instead on knowledge of police SOP in my area and watching the brake lights of cars ahead.
If the cars ahead are all hitting the brakes in the same spot as they pass, it's usually a radar trap. I am also well aware of where they setup around here. If someone is flying by me I pace them about an eight of a mile behind. Let them get the ticket while I slow down just in time lol.
This method has never failed me. Money saved goes to eating well or hobbies.
When driving out of my area I only go 7mph over the limit.
High speeds are saved for test and tune days or private rentals.
How many police forces are even using radar anymore? Aren't they all laser by now? I am, just curious. I got pulled over by a undercover mini van in a school zone. The speed limit was 25 and I was doing 27 in my Chevy Bolt. He didnt radar me but he was going the same speed I was right beside me and still not sure why he pulled me over. I am seeing so many cars now that I would never suspect would be police. Has anyone seen undercover cars radar or are there laws generally that it has to be a actual police car.
Around here the motorcycle police sit on a turn on the interstate with laser. Turn it on and take your picture instantly. Can't beat that as your detector tells you when you are caught speeding.

Fer sure. Laser alarm goes off, I hope I'm doing 9+ or less or I just got a ticket.

I was not mad or did it make me feel better. The guy jumping to your defence with out cause or correct info is what I jumped back on.
you admitted the mistake and fixed it no harm no faul. and later in years when someone searched it will be correct. have a good one
For those of you that do run detectors, have you also noticed when traveling that we are often targeted? It's like the Corvette has a radar magnet. LOL. Generally most police will have the radar on while rolling and there is an increasing signal strength to easily be aware that you will be clocked. But for the sneakier cops the Corvette just seems to require them to do an instant on check just to be sure that we are within the limit. For me this has been particularly on the highway where I try to stay within normal bounds.
However, I used a alternative to the Blendmount system that I have found to be rock-solid, at a fraction of the cost.
What is the alternative mount you used? I'm trying to find one that mounts the detector to the right of the mirror up high. There was a very nice inexpensive one for the C5 &6.
Thanks
