What are your thoughts on CPOs... I'm leaning forward with two C7s CPOs in mind, one is a 2018 and 2019 with under 20k on the clock; both with some distance from me, and both GS automatics. Anyone owns or purchased a CPO with unexpected repairs and GM honoring the contract?....
How good or bad is GM's CPO program?. I intend on purchasing an extended warranty to cover a couple more years beyond the 12-month limited bumper-to-bumper. But I'm looking for anyone's first-hand experience with a CPO on Corvettes, or GM for that matter.
From what I've heard, the inspection can be good or worthless, depending on the dealer.
An included extended warranty from GM can be very useful is something goes wrong.
Thanks gents. I've heard both points of view... Some say as long as the dealership looks over the car and there's no major defects with clear title, CPOs don't really give you much.
The same on using the funds that I would pay for a CPO vehicle should go to a third-party warranty company; good input, thanks. I've never purchased a CPO vehicle, so it seemed attractive at first.
I just purchased a 2019 vette and it already had the CPO but I got the deal I wanted. Right away I had to take it to my local dealer to have the triple flush and found it didn't have a Delco battery which is required to be certified. The selling dealer sent me a check to replace the battery. I haven't thought to buy a warranty as I didn't get my money's worth on the 2014.
Maybe I'll call Dennis about a warranty since I plan on keeping this vert a long time and it's our only car.
I would check into it as it used to be that CPO's already had a somewhat better wrranty than a new vehicle. I don't think it was extended but was significantly longer than a new car when all was considered. This may have changed from years back so the extended might be a wise choice.
I purchased my '16 vert in 2021 as a CPO car with only 3K miles. Since it was already five years old at the time I also got an extended warranty and it now has 16K trouble free miles after I had the triple flush done within a week of getting it home. I didn't mind paying "extra" as it was exactly what I was looking for and they gave me a pretty generous trade in value for the '12 GS vert I had.
