Human Machine Interface Control Module went bad
The HMI in my 2016 Z51 went bad recently. I was on a road trip and everything worked great until the trip home. The navigation system quit working. I had a red X across the GPS on the infotainment system and Onstar wouldn't work either. I took it to the dealer when I got home and they told me the HMI needed to be replaced. Is this a common issue? I am the original owner and the car has less than 5000 miles on it. Yes, it's a garage queen however, I have 6 vehicles including another sports car that is my DD. This is the first issue I have had with the car since I've owned it. The dealer ordered a new one but isn't sure when it will come in due to the current GM strike. I am using Apple Carplay for navigation in the interim and have Onstar on my phone if I should need it. I'm just wondering how frequently others have had to replace the HMI in their C7. Thanks.

Sure hope it would be something like the connectors not being properly seated. Might check them over and if your Infotainment system works again, you can always tell the dealer to cancel the part order.
