You can charge the battery using both of the methods above. I use a GM battery maintainer and just plug it into the outlet on the passenger side in the rear hatch.

When you lift the carpet be very careful you don’t rip it. It’s a pain in the *** because the carpet is under the trim piece, it takes patience. Also the plastic trim pieces scratch very easy
