You can try Apsis and see if they offer a real CF hood vent.

APR, Anderson Composite and Extreme Online Store all have solid carbon fiber Z06 hoods vents. EOS is the cheapest however you get what you pay for. I've had good luck ordering APR parts from RPI Designs. They seem to have the best shipped prices.

I had a carbon vent on my Z.. I actually hated the fit and finish, also impossible to match the factory carbon weave and color tint.... there were also quality issues. Gaps between hood and vent where they get sandwiched together on hood. I ended up going back to OEM. I would suggest maybe a high quality Hydro Dip finish... only way to get a good finish I think would be get a carbon fiber hood

You probably already purchased, but I can tell you that I have had great luck with APR. Their products are absolutely top shelf and extremely high quality. They also actually fit seamlessly which is a major plus. Only company I will order carbon from at the moment. I have tried to use EOS in the past and have never had a good experience. All of their parts either have deformities, do not fit, or have blemishes. Just wanted to give you my own personal experience with these companies. It made me learn that you truly get what you pay for. Hope the APR part works out for you!

I had the exact opposite experience. Had to return multiple pieces for replacement, still have a rear undertray sitting in my basement I can't use because I can't get help from anyone on replacing it. Every piece that had a driver side and a passenger side were different, trash products. Tried 3 different sets of rear quarter panel vents before realizing I was just going to have to deal with their terrible fitment. I will never purchase anything APR again. I'm not saying you're lying or didn't have a great experience; I am just sharing my personal experience with them.

Wow, that's good to know. I never really heard about APR having bad fitment, but good info to have for the future. Maybe they updated designs, so you had problems with an earlier design?? Who knows to be honest, but if I have learned one thing, aftermarket carbon pieces are very hit or miss, either they go off without a hitch, like the APR parts I ordered, or they don't fit and look awful like your experience with APR and mine with EOS. I personally will continue to use APR until I have a problem, but that's just my approach/opinion. If you did ever have problems with APR, I can say that I have heard good things about Anderson composites, but have never used them personally, so I cannot say for sure if they are good quality. Maybe someone else who has used them can chime in. I can only speak to my own personal experiences with both EOS and APR.

I think you will be happy with your decision. Here's some pics of EOS vs APR side vents that I have a direct comparison for. Just note in both images the vents were not bolted in yet and the APR fit like a glove, and the EOS pieces were so out of spec that they would not bolt in and would overhang on the body panel itself. In fact, the EOS piece made a nasty chip in the paint when I tried to fit them up. Again this is just my personal experience and I'm sure that there are others out there that have good luck with EOS, this was just not the case for me.

EOS. You can see the overhang and poor fitment that wouldn't allow the piece to mate up correctly. This is also where my paint eventually chipped as well.

EOS again. you can clearly see the gap between the body panel and vent (same part).

APR. This part fit seamlessly and there was no overhang or gap between the panel and vent itself. This is also unbolted so it gets even more snug.

I have the APR carbon fiber hood vent on my Stingray and the fitment is perfect. Dimensions are spot on with the factory vent. I’d imagine the Z06 vent would fit just as well.

Also, good call on Apsis. What they do is overlay carbon fiber over the existing vent, that’s why they need your core. You are actually adding weight and the finish will be thicker and inconsistent compared to a true solid carbon fiber solution using prepreg sheets.
