Hey friends, I hope you all had a great holiday!
I just purchased a 2015 Z51 Arctic White A8 Vette and am excited to get it on the road. I will upload some pictures ASAP!
Since I live in NY we are required to have a front license plate displayed on all cars. With that said, can someone point me in the direction of what bracket they recommend? I like the aero bracket which does not touch the body of the car and is removable but I can't find where I can buy. Also, since its a z51 do i look for a bracket that fits a Z06 grille as my grille does not have the corvette base straight bar across the grille? Any and all help and advice is welcome!
Thanks!

You should be able to get the aero license plate bracket from your local dealer. Part number should be 22830070. I am not positive if there is a separate aero plate holder for the Z06 grille. Your dealer should be able to tell you that.
There is one aeroplate holder for SR / Z-51 and another for GS/Z06/ZR1. The expansion bolts are different, not sure if the bracket is really different.
I like the sto-n-sho license plate holder / bracket as there is a quick disconnect and the plate holder is removable while the receiver stays on the car.
You do loose about a 1/2" of clearance at the front of the car though.
My C7 came with the front license bracket that I would be happy to sell you. It is the kind that does not mar or require any holes or tape. It uses two expansion bolts to lock onto the grill. My state does not require it so I do not need it. $25 plus shipping and it's yours.
On Z06 blocking grill just not a great idea I'd would go with what was stated in above post, but make sure you look under splitter and make sure what style sto n sho you need just in case

The Z51 grille should be the same as the Stingray Grille. Make sure you know for sure which grille is mounted in the car. A previous owner may have swapped in the GS/Z06 grille as they are the same size and layout other than the GS/Z06 grille has the cutouts for the front brake cooling ducts and doesn't have the bar through the center. I have seen people cut out parts of the Stingray Grille to get more air delivered to the brakes. Here is a quick conversion that was performed at an NCM track event a few years ago:
I wouldn't even bother mounting a front plate. I see numerous vehicles in the lower parts of nys and Connecticut everyday without front plates. And many are run of the mill kias and nissans. I hardly ever see a Corvette in new York with a front plate. From what I understand the police won't bother stopping a car for just not having a front plate. Now if you're stopped for another reason then yes they may give you a citation for no front plate. If I ever get stopped I'll just say that the car was hit in the front and the license plate bracket is on order. Just be sure to have the plate in the car. Just my 2 cents.
I went with Big Mikes Performance plate holder. It attached under the car and is very easily removed for cruise nights car shows. I bought mine thru Big Mike Performance but I believe they are available thru Walmart or Summit Racing . When I bought mine in 2017 there were different plate holder for Stingray or a GS, Z06. So if you order one double check your ordering the right holder for the car you have. I have not had any problems with it scraping driveway approaches etc. it’s all about the approach angle whether there’s a plate holder mounted underneath or not.
Here is a picture of holder showing under the car mounting. I did have to drill one small hole in plastic undercarriage the other two screws used existing holes. I never took a picture of plate holder from the front .
To remove holder for a cruise night you just pull the ring and the move plate section. If you zoom in on picture. you will see ring that I’m talking about. Also this mount doesn’t block the grill. Mycar is a 2017 Grand Sport.

I have a 2016 Stingray base with the OEM grill. It has the chrome bar in the middle and nothing else has changed from the original. It uses two expansion plastic bolts that go into the grill but don't scratch or alter any of the grill. If the grills are the same I guess it would fit. Taking it off took about three minutes.
I live in Texas and it's required, so I decided to have my plate ready to put on, but honestly I've never used it and haven't been stopped, so I spent $229 on something that stays in my trunk!
I bought my Stingray used and it had the factory front license plate holder on it. When I took it off, you can see where it had been rubbing the paint. Terrible design. The one from Zip fits well, goes on and off in seconds and doesn't rub anywhere.
MD requires a front plate as well but they passed a "corvette law/rule" some yrs ago. Basically it was argued and determined that if a car does not have a bumper and the only way to secure a tag restricts any airflow to the engine or would affect MPG, they are exempt from displaying the front tag. The tag must be in the vehicle somewhere tho, even being in the trunk counts. Check to see if NY passed that law as well. It was a movement by corvette clubs across the country to get states to adapt the corvette exemption. Don't know what other states followed MD.
