What are the thoughts on a C7 having C8 rims, is that against corvette rules or customs? Found a vette for sale with C8 rims and it seems kinda weird to drive a C7 with C8 rims especially when they have the C8 flags on them.
We grant beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to our eyes those wheels look pretty good on the car. It boils down to what the owner prefers. Those wheels would not be our first choice, but pretty sure having C8 wheels on a C7 will not necessarily condemn the owner to Corvette purgatory (would need to read up on the matter to be certain).
Wheels are relatively easy and inexpensive to change.
I watched a long term C8 review, I believe it was car and driver, and those pictured wheels had all four bent during the test period. So that "functional" reason is the only factor that plays a part to me
Edit: found the video, he talks about bent wheels at 10:30
The wheels do not fit on a C7 correctly. I guess i should have stressed the content of that link, instead of my opinion of the wheel appearance. It states the C8 uses 14mm lugs vs 12mm on the C7, so the holes are larger and the taper of the C7 lug nuts will not fit the wheel properly. Looking at the pictures, the lugs do not appear to be centered in the holes.

I like them but I’m also an engineer. I found the difference in bolt circle and estimated stress based on bolting calculations. It’s been almost 2 years with no issues.

This has been posted on the forum a number of times. If you want C8 looking wheels on a C7, consider reproduction wheels that are designed for the C7.
The Z51 stock wheels were forged. I'm unsure whether the C8 wheels in the photograph are forged like the Z51 wheels. But, there are no rules that say you must roll with the factory style wheel of your generation. It truly is about personal taste.
I did a generational wheel change as well, and threw on a set of OEM C6 Corvette wheels that are similar to the ones used by the C6 Corvette race team for a season. They are 18/19 and are forged like the Z51 wheels. I chose them to provide a smoother ride and to reduce the chance of sidewall cracks from poor road conditions.
Yep, my C7 center caps don't fit the C6 wheels, so one day I'll have to find an alternative replacement.
Good luck on your search for the perfect Corvette.

"easy" and "inexpensive" are relative words.
Our friends who own C7 GS/Z06 cars here in the snow belt with Summer & A/S tires and need to replace their cracking factory wheels with high quality forged, are talking close to $10k by the time they buy two sets of forged wheels + tax + shipping/insurance + mounting/balancing.
^^^^^
Going from what some others have said, I think the $5k per set would be with removing the existing tires and mounting them on the new wheels. No new tires.
For just the wheels themselves, I've heard people talk $3k-6k for a set of good quality forged wheels, plus the other costs I mentioned in post 14.
Of course you can pay less or more for forged. I have no idea whether the prices being charged are "reasonable", another relative word.
The bigger problem is finding out how durable the new wheels will be.
The makers aren't publishing failure data, and there aren't enough C7 aftermarket wheels of each make/style to learn much from the stories we hear about them.
One couple in our club bought new forged wheels for their C7Z and bent all four of them within the first year, they don't have a reputation for curb jumping or off roading.
I think the wheels look fine, but I'm a stickler for fitting correctly. With all due respect to engineer Buddhaman, I'd go for a aftermarket C8 look-alike as recommended by Jack. That said, putting another model's wheels on a vette is nothing new. I sold my C5 wheels to a guy with a C4. I've seen plenty C5s with C6 wheels and C7s with C6 GS wheels.
In my opinion the stock C8 wheels are horrible! They seem to be more of an after thought when they designed the C8. That seemed apparent since so many C8 owners have swapped out their wheels for something better. The wheel design has gotten a bit better in the past couple of years. I loved the stock wheels that were on my 2019 Grand Sport, just wish they didn't crack all the time! That said as a new owner of a 2023 C8, mine has the upgraded Forged Wheels which look so much better compared to the standard stock wheels.
