Default Radio issue

My radio has always worked perfectly and I haven't had a single issue with it until today. I got in my car and when I turned it on I got no sound. Thinking it was on mute, I pressed the volume button but then "Mute" popped up on the screen. I also noticed that the volume graphic at the bottom of the screen did not move from about half volume when I turned the volume ****. I tried all modes including radio, media, and aux input but there was no volume. The media was working because I could see the song progressing on the screen. After I shut the car off and came back 30 minutes later it worked fine. Have any of you experienced this kind of issue? Any idea what caused it? Also, at the same time when I went to get gas, the gas door would not open until I opened the driver's door. Is there any connection between the door and the gas filler door?

Can't help you with the audio. It may be a known issue that your dealer can download an update to fix it.

As for the gas door, you usually can only open it for a few minutes after the driver's door is opened. Once that time is past you need to open the driver door again to open the gas door.

The gas door is locked whenever the doors are locked... Sounds normal to me.

Your rolling computer network (sometimes called a car) has occasional glitches. Unless the radio issue becomes frequent just log it and forget it.

BTW - weak or failing batteries are the most frequent cause of electrical glitches. How old is the battery?

Thanks for the info about the door. I have a 2016 Ray and I am not sure how old my battery is. It isn't the original but did drain down last week. I was able to charge it and the alternator output is back to around 14 v at cruise and 13.5 it idle. I have a new Colorado truck and it has so many glitches that I am used to them but I didn't know if this year's model Vette has them too. The info on the battery is hidden by the bus bar on the positive terminal so I will have to remove that to see the date.
BTW, I have found a great place for my cell phone and that is in the cup holder laying horizontally. It is easily readable in that position and the whole phone is available instead of it being in vertically where the bottom is in the cup holder.

Sounds like a weak battery induced electro-gremlin. Many strange glitches start happening randomly and are known to haunt Corvettes until a new battery is installed. Good luck

Occasionally an electrical glitch can show up or it could be your battery is not in top shape. Easy enough to get the battery checked and at least rule that out.

I'm going to check my battery with my load meter to see if it has any guts left. Thank you all for that info about a weak battery. I had no issues until the battery failed to start the engine last week.
