A few days ago, my friends C7 was stolen in broad daylight. He parked the car in an attended lot, locked the car, kept the keys and went into the resturant.
A short time later, the attendent came in and told him someone just drove off with his car. The surveillance video showed another car drive up beside his, one guy got out and less than 2 minutes later drove off in his car.
The other car was stolen so nothing from the plates ID. I wonder if the attendent might be part of it. Police are looking.
My question is how do you get into a locked Corvette without breaking the windows and drive off in less than two minutes?
The police mentioned something about an OBD II device that would allow this but I can't any reference to anything like that here or in Europe.

Any experience here? Any ideas?
my buddy has had 2 cts-v's stolen and attempted theft of his c7z here in dallas.. they towed his though. without being debbie downer, they never found his. chances of your buddy getting his back is slim
Don't use the fob to lock the doors, set them to lock automagicly.

If they use the faraday box that won’t matter. They can capture your fob’s signal and transmit it to your car. Open the door and start the car.
The signal changes every time it communicates with the car based on a unique algorithm for each fob.
The pouches work to prevent the signal from being intercepted.
I use them for both my C8 and C7.
Son’s new to him 2016 C7 was stolen in Dallas this way less than a week after he brought the car home. I had it a few weeks to detail it for him.
30,000 miles with no accident. The day we picked it up Just before he took it home
Car was totaled around 10AM the morning after being stolen. Son had both fobs in his apartment.
Tested the pouches and no signal escapes to wake the car, no entry or starting.
As bad as this is, the Dodges are getting stolen at an incredibly high rate, I believe that the thieves intercept your fob signal when you lock/unlock your car & can then use that to start & drive off with no fob
I dunno why anyone uses the FOB to lock and unlock their car.....I have my car set to auto lock and it unlocks when I walk up and grab the door....no reason to ever push the button

It unlocks when you grab the door because your fob is transmitting a signal. Keyless entry doesnt work without the fob, and keyless entry is how thieves steal the car.

Doesn’t matter as the fob is constantly broadcasting as signal. Thieves can intercept it at any time and use it later (as long as you don’t use it before they do).

then again I have a C6Z06 and that bitch barely works from the passenger seat to the driver seat
Do you mean to use the lock push button switches on the door panels?
Set to auto lock when you exit the vehicle then use a fob from another vehicle to make a show of locking the car. Might confuse them... And I have 3 fobs in my pocket at all times...
Edit: and keep your Corvette fob in a tin foil pouch...
