Default Changing stitching color?

Hello all, has anyone changed the color of the stitching in their car? Im in the market to buy a c7 and I like the red stitching option, but not too many cars seem to have it. It’s not a deal breaker, but I was wondering if and how easily it would be to change the color? Has anyone done this? Did it look ok? I’ve heard there are dye pens, but wondering how well that really works and looks afterwards. Thanks!

Here's the entire 22 page sticky thread on it. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ever-imho.html

I've done it. It's not hard just a little time consuming. I would do a couple inches at a time and wipe off the excess from the seat with a damp microfiber cloth. Get yourself some extra pens as you'll definitely wear out the tips. I used the "Marvy Uchida" brand from my local craft store. Over a year later and it's still holding up. I do not recommend trying it on any alcantara pieces. I bought the shift **** and boot.

awesome, I tried searching before posting and didn’t see this sticky… either operator error or search tool isn’t that good! This gives me some hope!! Yours looks reallly good, if you bought the boot and shift ****, that red looks basically the same as the areas you colored… at least in the pics!

Anyone done this and now regret it? I have a white stingray with black interior and thought about dyeing the stitching red. I bought the markers about a year ago but chickened out.

No regrets and it’s about 2 years and still look the same. No fade and just doing the stitching is just enough red without over doing it. And makes your interior pop.

Another place to look for a pen to color the stitching is Hobby Lobby. They have a product called Stained by Sharpie and it works very well to color stitching and lasts a long time.

I did mine in blue a few years ago with dye pens. Just be careful and take your time. A few inches at a time and wipe away the excess as you go. It did fade a bit after a couple years but I just reapplied another coat.
