Default Help identifying Brake Part / Purpose

I removed the wheels for the first time to replace the brake fluid on my 2016 C7. I was surprised to see an unusual set of what looked to be like rollers on top of my front brake caliper (pic attached). I'm assuming this is part of the brake pad assembly. I have yet to come across anything like this before. I'm assuming it is some type of aftermarket brake assembly and not the OEM setup. Anyone familiar with this setup? My car is a base stingray with the Z51 package.

Never saw a setup like that before since I have a non-Z51 car. Learned something new today.

These are the original pads on our 2015 Z51..

I believe the items extending past the top edge of the pads are dust generators.

I replaced those pads with PowerStop Z26 pads which did not have those items, and I no longer had brake dust.

I have a 2015 Z51 still with the original pads. The front pads do not have the extensions as shown in the OP's pics.

Thanks for the info. Funny, I watched quite a few videos on C7 brake pad replacement and never seen any of these type of pads being replaced.
