Hi
After owning 5 different vett’s and trading my last C6 (2007) for a Mercedes E350 vert because my wife was unable to see out the rear or front. The Mercedes has 360 degree cameras but now we moved to Florida which is mostly angle parking so I am now looking for a c6 or C7. What l have noticed is my best deal is to trade my Mercedes in because privately the asking price is higher and your dealer will give a warranty..
a penny for your thoughts

If I read this right, I'm not sure why your dealer would stipulate you trade your car in in order to get a warranty. If you have the time to sell your Mercedes privately, go for the extra dollars. Of course keep in mind the potential tax savings by trading in a car, depending on how your state operates.
Here trading in the car gets you a tax savings since you only pay taxes on the difference in price. But, if you sell the car privately within a certain period of time before/after the purchase of your new car, you can still claim the exemption on sales tax of the difference in pricing.

what l was trying to say most dealers will give some kind of warranty while a private sale your on your own.
By the way it has been a while since l have been around and glad you’re still here. You helped me pick up my last 2 vettes which l thank you
FL is the same in taxes but you have to trade the car when buying. No PP sales. In my experience the last few years anyway the tax savings are more of a benefit. PP is a PITA unless you got the time. There are tons of E350's in FL.
C7 prices gave ticked down a little in FL but you still have a vast price difference with some dealers. Pop your location in on autotrader to get an idea & what's around.
Dealers don't "give" warranties. I'm a former dealer and I won't bother with the general public. Get KBB prices on both your car and one you want to buy. Dealer ads have the VIN. This method worked perfectly last Aug. when I traded my 14 coupe for the 19 vert and I negotiated the deal over the phone. Knowing those numbers enabled me to make the deal easily. I have found dealers who difficult to deal with and passed.
If you *purchase* from a dealer they'll likely try to sell an extended warranty to you. If you *purchase* from a private party you'll have to go find your own. In general, after negotiations, the dealer-provided warranties seem to be better.
*selling* (to a PP) or *trading* your MBZ at the dealer should make no difference to whether they try to sell you a warranty when you *purchase* a vehicle. But as previously mentioned, there might be a sales-tax benefit to trading (plus less hassle and all that).
