I detailed my car today and noticed that the weatherstrip around the passenger side rear quarter window has separated. I was wondering if this is a do-it-yourself replacement.
The strip extends up under the top crossbar and I’m not sure how difficult that would be to install.
Thoughts please.
Thanks.
Yes. Very common issue. Only option is to either replace the glass or re-glue. I had a strip of the very thin doubled sided 3m tape laying around the garage. I used a small piece to reattach the rubber to the housing. It’s held for over a year now. I would think some one by now would have thought of a fix without having to replace perfectly good glass.

My 2019 did exactly the same thing, I cleaned the area with isopropyl alcohol then applied a clear silicone to the affected area, worked well at first but I did notice just today the repair has failed, so I will try again.
I finally got around to working on my weatherstrip. I cleaned everything with isopropyl alcohol and used 3M #5952 foam tape (.40” wide) along with their adhesion promoter.
Hopefully it will hold. If it doesn’t, I’ll use 3M weatherstrip adhesive. It’s messy but I know it I’ll hold.
