Default Soler throttle controller issue

Greetings,
I've had the soler throttle controller on my 2017 M7 for about 5 years now. Today, for the 3rd time in about 3 years I got a check engine light and car goes into limp mode. Codes P2138, P2127. I know these are accelerator position sensor codes. I figured out last time if I disconnect the controller, the car runs fine. I clear the codes and the check engine light goes off after a few start cycles. Afterwards, the car runs fine. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I like the feature, but honestly, I'm about ready to remove it.
Thanks

Why not call Soler Performance and discuss with them - tell them the car’s symptoms and what you have been required to do so far to get the car to run properly. I have found them to be very helpful when it comes to their products.

Good luck, hope this can be fixed relatively easy.

Mine did that shortly after I installed it. Ironically, it happened when the dealer tech was test driving my car relating to another issue I was having. Soler sent me a new replacement (of their newer updated version) at no cost. No issues in the past 2 years since then.

Just call Mike at Soler explain to him what’s going on he’ll take care of you. He’s one of the nicest, coolest vendors I’ve ever talked too. 👍

After watching the banks drama yt video, if I had to get a controller, I’d get the pedal monster.

Given how long you've had your controller, I assume you've got a non-Bluetooth version. In my experience with that, the symptoms you describe could be related to a bad/intermittent connection between the pedal harness and the control head.

For the best diagnosis and advice, however, I echo recommendations to contact @Mike@SolerEngr.

I worried about this after I watched Bank's video so, I went with the Banks pedal monster. It's powered by the OBD2 port to avoid this problem. So, far so good.

UPDATE: They said it appears to be an "intermittent connection issue", or maybe something internal but without being able to inspect the unit, no way to be sure. That said, it's an older version and obsolete. They did stand behind their product in a way that I'm happy with. I can't complain about that. Good company that stands behind it's products to keep customers happy!

Have you considered running without it or switching something with a failsafe like pedal monster?

All controllers will eventually set a limp code if you have them set high , it's not just a solar , Vitesse, and pedal comander will do the same thing

Pedal Commander is also so grossly overpriced that it's crazy

I had a Vitesse in my C6 for three years. Never an issue.

I've had one in my C7 since 2017. About 3 months ago, it finally happened, and the car went nuts. Recalibrated in about 30 seconds once it limped home, and fine ever since.

Yep , I have had one also in my C6 and still in my C7 , both have gone into limp mode on me

Its all about the tolerances as its just voltages , the ECM is looking at what the pedal is comanding by reading position voltage against what thottle body postion sensor voltage is reading , if the difference is out of range it will go into reduced power mode to protect the occupants of the car . It's this stacking of tolerances, the gas pedal sensor, throttle body sensor, throttle controller that causes an issue especially at the extreme settings like on a Vitesse SP8 .... you can recalibrate it and it will work , but chances are if you replicate the exact same conditions , the ECM will soft fail again .
That's why pedal monster uses the OBD port as it's a piggy back device that is actually altering the throttle response using the ECM program
