I’ve found a 2015 z51 manual with 25,000 miles on it. Original owner with the build sheet and all records. What should I be on the lookout for problem wise?
1. Play the radio speakers - I wanted to keep the radio volume low/almost off so I could hear any potential engine issue, creaks, pops or weird noises but I neglected to test the radio at volume. When I bought the car, first thing I did was connect my bluetooth and found out that the speakers were blown. I had to replace most of them which was a unforeseen cost.
2. Test the electronic parking brake and listen for any grinding/popping noises.
3. Remove Targa top and look at all the weather seals that are hidden under the top for any tears or holes
4. Test all windows and rear hatch pop, testing the raise and lower of the hatch.
Note: With all windows and doors closed, the hatch will not close as easily due to cabin pressure. This is normal.
5. If it has NPP exhaust, open and close the valves.
6. And obviously, shift through ever gear. If the tranny is cold, you can expect a little more resistance in low gear shifts. Test drive it until the engine is warm and ensure all the gears/sync easily.
Some 2015s had intermittent engine overheating issues. Turned out that a large batch of radiator fans had faulty programming logic. You’d be on the interstate, take an exit and now on city streets. The fan wouldn’t “wake up”. You’d have to **** the car off then restart it.
I swapped my fan (2015 Z51) with the fan unit for the Z06. Plug n play. ZERO issues since.
BUT, not all 14s and 15s experienced this. If your car happens to overheat, the fan unit could be it. Simple job to swap.

Lots of good recommendations presented. Just check everything over thoroughly and if needed, hire a person who is knowledgeable with the C7 to give you a hand in looking at the car.
Sounded like a squeezy bearing. Just went in and out. Car was in neutral, engine running up on the lift. At the rear of the torque tube where it meets the transaxle, there was a high pitched squeaking noise. Faint, in and out.
