Check Engine Light
Hello! I changed my battery today--after installing the new battery, all is good except now the check engine light is on...has anyone had this issue? Any ideas? Thanks for your thoughts!!

Is the small black wire attached to the negative terminal? Also recheck tightness on everything, not just the terminals.

I agree on ensuring the small black wire is securely attached. Otherwise strange issues can occur.

Check for DTC's, make a note if any.
Reboot the system.
Remove the neg battery cable, press on brake and hold fo 2 minutes, reconnect cable, allow time for all electronics to come up, reindex windows.
Recheck for codes.

BTW, there are 2 wires connected to the neg terminal, on short one and one long one...I noticed that on some of the utube vids I watched, they didn't have both
of those wires...do you have 2 wires connected to the neg terminal??

And, get a cheapo code-reader/resetter at any parts store. You'll likely need it at some point, on something, even if not now. Mine's an old Altel, as best I recall being away from home right now.
